Flash

Terms of Use

Effective 6 October 2026. Applies to the Flash RSS Reader Android application, package io.getflash.app.

1. Agreement

Flash RSS Reader ("Flash", "the app") is published by DVM Software, a sole trader based in Barcelona, Spain ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the app.

2. What Flash is

Flash is a feed reader. It retrieves RSS and Atom feeds that you choose to add, displays their contents on your device, and links to the original articles.

Flash does not produce, edit, select, endorse or verify any of the content it displays. Everything you see comes from sources you added yourself. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality or availability of that content, and the views expressed in it are not ours.

3. Content and copyright

Copyright in each article belongs to the publication that produced it. Flash displays feed content as published and links to the original in every case. You are responsible for using the material you read in a way that respects the rights of its owner and the terms of the sites you subscribe to.

If you are a rights holder and believe Flash is displaying your content improperly, email flashrssapp@gmail.com and we will respond promptly. Note that removing a feed from the app removes it only for the person who added it, as Flash holds no central list of subscriptions.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to use Flash lawfully, and not to use it to access material you are not entitled to access, to circumvent a publisher's access controls, or to interfere with the operation of the app or of any site it connects to.

Your data lives on your device. Keeping it safe, including making sure your device backup arrangements suit you, is your responsibility.

5. AI summaries

Flash can generate a short summary of an article using an AI model, either on your device (on supported phones) or, if you add your own Gemini API key, through Google's Gemini API (see section 6). We do not provide, pay for or resell the Gemini API. Summaries are produced automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. They are a convenience, not a substitute for reading the article, and should not be relied on where accuracy matters.

6. Your own Gemini key

Flash makes AI summaries on your phone where Google's on-device model is available. You can also add a Gemini API key from your own Google account in Settings, under Advanced: Flash then uses it on phones without the on-device model, and for articles too long for it.

7. Purchases and advertising

Flash comes in two forms only: with advertising, or with a one-time paid unlock that removes it. Nothing else differs between them. There is no version without one or the other.

8. Third-party services

Flash connects to services operated by others, including the websites hosting your feeds, Google's favicon service, Feedly's feed search, Google AdMob in the version with ads, Google Play for purchases, and Google's Gemini API if you add your own key. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we have no control over them. The privacy policy lists each connection and what it sends.

9. No warranty

Flash is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or that any particular feed will work. Feeds break, sites change, and publishers stop publishing, and none of that is within our control.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Flash, including lost data, lost profits or loss of access to content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep all rights granted to you by mandatory consumer protection law, and nothing here affects them.

11. Availability and changes

We may update, change or discontinue Flash or any of its features at any time. Where a change materially affects how the app works, it will be described in the release notes for the version that introduces it.

These terms may change. The effective date at the top of this page changes with them, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Spain. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live.
